oh boy. we got our x-box back

after a very long abscence, brian's faulty x-box has been repaired. not only repaired, but modified to be a super x-box capable of storing like
50 trillion gigabytes or something of memory. we can now put games on it and store all our movies and our cds and games. brian is now revelling in the glory of old games such as q-bert. this brings back wonderful memories of his childhood playing games with his sister. there has been a lot of x-boxing going on in the van houten household.

this one is for christy.

perhaps some of you noticed that one of brian's interests in our profile is "pirating." this has been his game of choice lately.

this is his really tough pirate look. i think he is a cute pirate.

Thanks for that Boa! I have that game on my computer...and many more. So I guess "Pirating" runs in the family. Hope you are having fun and Meg isn't getting hit in the leg like you used to do to me when you would lose at a game. Suggestion for Meg if this is happening...put a chair in between you...IT WORKS!!!!

megan! i just discovered your blog (soon after discovering matt's) how in the world are you? it's so great to hear a little tidbit about your life. i've been asking lots of our joint friends if they know how you are! (the megan search has been on.) gosh-- it's been too long! i miss you!

things are good in my life (oh, this is beth peterson by the way). i am graduating hopefully in a month from wheaton and then trying to figure out some life plans after that. thinking of maybe moving out east or west (how nice and vague, huh? ;) tell me more about you!! hmm,, maybe i can get your digits and give you a real phone call.,

Brian, what a mom can learn. I never knew you were hitting your sister over a game. Ask your dad how I ruined a game one time by hitting the card table and bouncing marbles off the board game. I lost but so did everyone else. I will never forget the look on your dad's face. He could not believe I did that.
